Method:

  1. Combine all ingredients except pecans. Dough will be very stiff - don't burn up your mixer!

  2. Add pecans to dough.

  3. Powder hands with extra cocoa.

  4. Put remainder of cocoa in a small bowl

  5. Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough into cocoa in bowl, then roll between palms until round.

  6. Place on cookie sheet, 2 inches apart.

  7. Flatten with cocoa-powdered bottom of glass until 1/4 inch thick.

  8. Bake 12 minutes at 350°F.

Walker, who loves chocolate, created this recipe. The cookies are crispy on the outside and moist and chewy on the inside. Cookies fit for a pirate!
