My fellow TTOL'ers, I come to you tonight with a heavy heart. 
I must report to you that on Friday, January 23, 2004 our dear friend Davide Pugliese will
be passing over the hill. As in, can you say "FIFTY"?

Just remember, fifty is nifty!! Guess that dates me, but having spent

Happy 50th. I’ll toast you with a glass of grappa tonight when I get home.
I’m afraid I’m dragging my 50th a few years behind me, although not as far
astern as Captain Whitebeard’s. .gif) 50 really ain’t so bad. And
you are pretty lucky. I only got to spend a week or so in the islands to celebrate mine

Davide having reached the age of 50 is now legally a "Dirty Old
Man."
The new signature cocktail at Brandywine is the "Life Preserver" and is:
2oz. Bartolito Rum
3oz. Prune Juice
splash of Geritol.
Combine the ingredients in a shaker (remeber to fill with ice), chill, stir, strain into a
martini glass and serve garnished with viagra.

This thread is absolutely, positively travel related.
Why? I am making this post from Davide's office. Nancy and I traveled all day yesterday to
be here for a mega-surprise birthday party last night. I could not post anything earlier
about the trip because I could not let Davide have even a hint about it.
OK, now that I have "legalized" the post by including some travel talk in it, I
will add a couple of quick details. There were 48 guests, including Chief Minister Dr.
Orlando Smith and his wife Lorna, Charles Tobias (owner of the Pusser's empire) and his
wife Joanna, Davide's mother and father from Italy, TTOL'ers Mike ("chef_mike")
and Val ("islandgirl123"), and many many others.
The surprise was absolutely total. Davide thought that the Rotary Club was having a big
dinner at Brandywine Bay last night. He had no clue that he was preparing his own birthday
party dinner!
I spoke to Dr. Orlando Smith about TTOL -- he's a fan, and Lorna really is a fan. It is
probably not cool for heads of state to post on the internet, however....
I took over 150 photos last night, and will write a detailed journal of the entire trip
when we get back home Monday. (This is just a weekend trip!)

I do not mean to get into a war of words with you or anyone else on this board. While, I
am sure we all respect your contributions to this board re navigational help, great photos
of the BVI etc., etc. I do really believe that wishing a Happy Birthday to a BVI business
man whether it be a restauranter, booze baron or a Chief Minister does not belong on a
traveltalk section. A section devoted to this type of communiction is known as People
Talk. If you wish to send me birthday greetings, as I was also in business in the BVI, you
may do so, but please don't do it on this board.
